MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST

Position Summary: The medical technologist performs a variety of laboratory tests, procedures and related duties, in order to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease, by following established standards and practices. The medical technologist is responsible for the orderly processing of patient specimens during the assigned work shift. This includes specimen collection, testing, processing, and reporting of accurate results. Includes issue resolution in the pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases. The technologist maintains active communication and strengthens collaborative relationships among the pathologists, medical staff, nursing units, their specific section, and other lab staff.

Position Qualifications: Minimum Education: Bachelors degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or related field. Minimum Experience: Required clinical internship in a MT/MLS approved program Required Registration/License/Certification: MT(ASCP) OR MLS(ASCP)

Respiratory Therapist
Position Summary: 
This position is responsible for independently performing respiratory care procedures which requires the ability to interpret physician orders, assess patient needs, deliver prescribed therapy and evaluate patient response. This includes invasive procedures that may be performed with minimal supervision and minor assistance in patient care units and critical care areas. Therapists will serve in a consulting role by communicating suggestions to other members of the clinical team regarding the respiratory care delivered to patients in all areas of the hospital. The position requires the ability to respond promptly to changes in workload and make adjustments in assignments as needed to achieve optimal productivity, efficacy and quality patient care.

Position Qualifications: Minimum Education; Associates degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited program.  Minimum Experience;1 year Respiratory Care experience preferred.  Required Registration/License/Certification; Current Kansas license or eligible for Kansas License, Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the NBRC.

Sleep Center Technician

Position Summary: 

The Sleep Center Technician works under the general supervision of the medical director and the Sleep Center Manager; is able to help provide comprehensive evaluation sleep studies and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve Polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. A Staff Sleep Technician can perform the duties defined for a Polysomnographic Technician.

Position Qualifications: Minimum Education; Associates degree in Respiratory Care or a healthcare related field. Minimum Experience;1 year sleep technology experience preferred. Radiology Technologist

Position Summary: The Diagnostic Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic medical radiographic procedures on all patient populations (neonate through geriatric) and exhibits superior levels of customer service. The technologist effectively operates radiographic equipment to produce quality images in a variety of settings (Radiology Department, Emergency Department, Operating Room, or at the patient's bedside). The technologist explains procedures to the patient, demonstrates appropriate patient positioning, and obtains optimum views of specified anatomy. The technologist adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors based on knowledge of the procedure and established guidelines. The technologist demonstrates effective radiation safety practices and assists the Radiologist, when necessary. The technologist interacts with numerous computer programs and systems on a daily basis. The technologist may also perform various other duties as assigned by the Radiology Supervisor or Director of Radiology.

Position Qualifications:  Minimum Education; Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology. Minimum Experience; Registered or registry eligible Radiologic Technologist. Required Registration/License/Certification; American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT) or graduate student eligible for exam, Kansas License for Radiology Technology, Basic Life Support certification will be accepted from either American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider, or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association-Health Care Provider), or successfully completes within the first 90 days of employment.

Position Summary: The coder assures quality and timely submission of demographic and diagnostic information for data retrieval and reimbursement. The position performs retrospective coding of diagnosis for all acute, inpatient records and other classifications as required by third party payors. In addition, the coder monitors the KFMC DRG inquiries and follows-up as needed. Codes diagnoses/procedures utilizing ICD-9-CM Disease Classification System. Outpatient coding is performed utilizing CPT classification system. Assists with monitoring completion of final diagnoses to facilitate timely claim submission.

Position Qualifications: Minimum Education: Associates degree in Health Information Science from an accredited program in health information. Minimum Experience: One year coding experience in a hospital setting preferred. Required Registration/License/Certification: Accreditation as an R.H.I.T.

Position Summary: Provides professional spiritual care for assigned patients utilizing spiritual assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation according to professional standards, state regulation, and in keeping with the health center mission. Position Qualifications: Minimum Education-Master of Divinity or religious studies. One unit of CPE required; four units of CPE preferred. Information Security Analyst

Position Summary: Directs and implements the necessary controls and procedures to protect Information Technology computer systems, networks, and data from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure or destruction. Possess a strong background in information security policies & procedures. Provides high level security reviews, management and maintenance functions. Responsible for monitoring the installation, configuring, and upgrading of applications, and hardware on the network while maintaining data integrity and security, ensuring compliance with applicable internal policies and procedures and external regulations. Assist with development of technical standards and organizational policies and procedures relating to the network.
