Education Coordinator RN

Position Summary: The Education Coordinator functions in the organization as an educator, consultant, facilitator, researcher, leader, change agent and resource person for the health center. Knowledge of adult education principles, change management, team building, facilitation, consultation and learning theory distinguishes this position, supported by competence in the areas of research, leadership, consultation, staff development, simulation and professional growth. The Education Coordinator under the direction of the department director assumes a consultant role in strengthening collaborative relationships with health center leadership, physicians, and all health care staff in various settings to improve patient/family outcomes along the care continuum throughout the organization.

Position Qualifications: Minimum Education; Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or related field. MSN preferred. Minimum Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience, Required Registration/License/Certification: Current Kansas Registered nurse license, Current BLS certification

Specialty Tech

Position Summary: Under the direction and supervision of the professional nurse in charge of the department, the specialty technician assists the nurses in providing quality patient care and informs the nurse about any significant changes. This includes taking vital signs, transporting patients, and helping the professional nurse with interventions. The specialty technician also interacts with other departments, performs cleaning, and restocks supplies, all under the direction of the professional nurse.

Position Qualification: Minimum Education, High school graduate or GED. Completion of nurse aide orientation & competency assessment, and successful completion of 90-day introductory evaluation; OR actively accepted in a nursing program with satisfactory completion of foundations of nursing course, and completion of specialty tech orientation/training within first week. Minimum Experience, 1-2 years nurse assistant experience preferred. Required Registration/License/Certification, Basic Life Support certification from either American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider, or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association-Health Care Provider).

Resource Technician

CNA or Anatomy & Physiology Course Completion, or Experience with1 year of experience required

Position Summary: Provides support to the nursing staff by observing the patient to prevent patient injury. Resource Technician support includes personal care (bathing, linen changes, oral care, brushing hair, position changes), assisting with meals, obtaining and documenting vital signs, weight, and intake and output. Resource Technician observe and report to the registered nurse information related to patient safety. Works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse assigned to the patient.

Position Qualifications Minimum Education, High school graduate or GED. Completion of a certified nurse assistant (CNA) training course or satisfactory completion of foundations course in nursing school. Minimum Experience, 1-2 years nurse assistant experience preferred. Required Registration/License/Certification, Basic Life Support certification will be accepted from either American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Health Care Provider, or Basic Life Support (American Heart Association-Health Care Provider), or successfully completes within the first 90 days of employment.
