One local and one about 30 minutes out of town. Job Purpose: Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities with respect to safety and quality of workers involved in assembly and paint departments. Essential Functions 1. Carries out supervisory responsibilities including training and development; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining; addressing complaints and resolving problems; budgeting, and coaching and counseling. 2. Delegate’s tasks to assembly personnel in order to meet customer needs. 3. Report supply needs to procurement and/or purchasing as needed. 4. Identify and assist Manufacturing Engineering Department in making quality improvements to products produced. 5. Maintain a clean and organized environment in Building A according to 5S standards. 6. Monitor waste materials as to ensure proper disposal. 7. Check on supplies for parts, assembly, and paint. 8. Monitors and corrects work practices as they relate to safety concerns/issues. 9. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. 10. Contributes to team effort by actively participating in team meetings. Additional Responsibilities 1. Inspection of paint room (house) as needed. 2. Check waste water to determine if needs to be disposed. 3. Work with Process Engineer to train employees on safety standards; help develop and improve safety procedures. 4. Inform Manufacturing Manager and Resource Group of conditions that can or could cause concern regarding safety. 5. Identify and assist Manufacturing Manager in identifying tools and resources needed to make quality and productivity improvements. Qualifications and Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Three to five years’ experience in a manufacturing, mechanical environment or related experience. 2. High school diploma or equivalent. 3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate detailed information to co-workers, management, vendors, suppliers, and customers. 4. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact in a positive and professional manner to develop and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers, management, vendors, suppliers, and customers. 5. Ability to delegate responsibility. 6. Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence. 7. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages. 8. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 9. Ability to utilize a forklift, power tools, and hand tools. 10. Ability to work independently. 11. Knowledge of paint and assembly. 12. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. 13. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 14. Ability to read schematics (blue prints). 15. Ability to operate computer and computer software, to include Microsoft Office products, CAD, SolidWorks, and MRP (Finesse). 16. Ability to use department equipment such as a telephone, computer, fax machine, and copy machine. 17. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
